Why DutyTag exists
In under a year, shipping a small parcel abroad stopped being simple. DutyTag is here to make it simple again for people who sell things they make.
The problem
Since August 2025 every parcel into the US needs a 10-digit tariff code. Since July 2026 the EU charges €3 for each different code in a small parcel, and Etsy asks sellers outside the US to ship duty paid. The official tariff schedules run to thousands of lines, and a keyword search for “glass vase” can land you in the chapter for vegetables.
Sellers in forums keep asking the same thing: which code is mine, and what do I charge now? Many have simply stopped shipping to the US. DutyTag answers both questions for a whole shop at once, and shows its working so you can trust the answer.
Who is building it
I'm Haseeb Sagheer, a software engineer working in AI and data. I'm building DutyTag in the open and opening my own Etsy shop to use it on real parcels, so every feature gets tested on actual orders before it reaches you.
If you sell abroad and want to tell me what's hard about it, I read every message: get in touch.
