HS code for soy candles
Soy candles usually ship under 3406.00. Here is the full US code, the duty, the customs description to use, and what would make it a different code.
Based on the example: “Soy wax candle in a glass jar” (soy wax, glass jar, cotton wick).
Why this code
The product is a candle made of soy wax with a cotton wick, and the glass jar only holds it. Customs rulings put soy wax candles under the candle heading.

When it would be a different code
- 7013.99.1000 If the glass jar, not the wax, were judged the essential character (e.g., a decorative glass vessel sold mainly as glassware with the candle incidental).
- 7013.99.3500 If the item were sold mainly as a votive-candle holder (glass holder for a separate candle) rather than a filled candle.

Estimate for a parcel sent by post, using US rates collected since 24 July 2026 (rates dated 2026-10-22). Since 9 July 2026 Etsy asks sellers outside the US to include this duty in their US price. Upload your shop to see it per product and variation.
Shipping soy candles to the EU
Use the same 6-digit code, 3406.00. Since 1 July 2026 the EU charges a flat €3 duty for each different type of item in a parcel worth €150 or less, so soy candles in one order add €3 however many are in the box.
